Don’t wait for Black Friday. Get a jump on holiday shopping now by checking out great merchandise at Goodwill stores throughout central Iowa this Friday, Nov. 21. And enjoy special discounts and win prizes such as an Xbox One or $50 gift cards.
Blue Friday, which happening this Friday at all central Iowa Goodwill retail stores, is a fun event with all proceeds going directly to Goodwill’s job training programs that help put people to work.
With our programs and employment assistance, Goodwill of Central Iowa has helped place nearly 500 people in Iowa jobs in 2014. This success is in accordance with our mission: Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa improves the quality of life for all individuals by providing skills training and helping people find jobs.
Here’s how Blue Friday works: Anyone wearing blue into one of our 17 central Iowa retail stores on Nov. 21 will receive $5 off any purchase of $20 or more that day.
Shoppers can also pick up a bounce-back coupon card good for incremental savings over the next three months. Customers must show their card, and it must be used each month to be eligible for a discount the next month. The offer will be available at all retail stores. The outlet store is not participating.
Also, on Friday, the Jordan Creek and Waukee retail stores will offer a special Blue Friday event with refreshments, games, $50 gift cards for Bass Pro Shop, Hy-Vee, Casey’s, Bonefish Grill and Goodwill, and door prizes. The party will start at the Jordan Creek Goodwill store, 6630 Mills Civic Parkway, from 9 a.m. to noon, then it will move to the Waukee store, 170 Laurel St., SE, in Waukee. And, 1075 KISS FM will broadcast from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Waukee store. On Monday, both stores will award an Xbox One as a grand prize.
