Each month mission services team members at Goodwill of Central Iowa nominate clients for the Achiever of the Month Award. The winner is an individual who exemplifies our mission, values and vision by making progress toward his or her goals, having excellent attendance, being a good role model and having a positive attitude.

Heather has made significant progress this month, and I am so proud of her. Her first big step was participating in our retail training program. She hasn’t missed a day, has a great attitude, and is impressing others (and herself!) with her progress and success so far. She also attended a hiring event this past weekend with me where she was able to set up an interview with Target for early November. Heather has taken a huge leap of faith and has gone outside of her comfort zone accomplishing more in the past four weeks than she has in the past four years.
