
JOB READY PATHWAYS SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM
Program Overview
The Job Ready Pathways Skills Training Program is a seven-week program that focuses on soft skill development crucial to successful employment.
- This program follows a curriculum featuring a three-part learning series comprised of Job Readiness, Job Seeking, and Job Keeping.
- Development of soft skills will be the primary focus of our Job Ready Pathways Skills Training Program. This includes learning things such as professional communication, time management, teamwork, self-advocacy, and critical thinking.
- Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive The Conover Credential highlighting the skills they have developed, along with a Certificate of Completion from Goodwill of Central Iowa.
Meet Your Trainer
Doug Snyder, a seasoned Skills Trainer at Goodwill of Central Iowa who will be heading up the program, shared what he hopes participants will be able to gain through this training.
“I know the Job Ready Pathways Skills Training Program has the ability to give someone who may have not had a job, or who’s had some challenges in life, a foundation to build on and the confidence they need to succeed.”
Snyder went on to explain how the completion of the program can make a difference in the lives of participants.
“Everyone deserves love, kindness, and respect and the opportunity to feel the power of employment. This program can be the beginning of a new life for someone,” said Snyder. “I am excited and happy to be a part of that process.”

Qualifications to participate
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must receive funding for this program from Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS)
- Must reside within our 22 county service area and be able to secure reliable transportation to our Johnston, Iowa Headquarters training location.
- Desire to develop skills for competitive employment.
- Able to self-administer all medications.
- Independent in self-care needs.
- Not harmful to self or others.
Developing soft skills
