Our Red, White and Blue sales event on July 3 was a huge success! Goodwill of Central Iowa retail stores had their biggest day ever for sales, with 16 of our 18 stores posting a 10 percent (or higher) increase for sales in a single day.
On our Red, White and Blue Friday, we offered drawings for prizes and lots of discounts. And, traffic was up at nearly all our stores.
What this really means is a big boost for our skills training and work readiness/training programs that help people find jobs in central Iowa. Last year, Goodwill of Central Iowa had a record-breaking year, helping to place 565 people into jobs in the communities we serve. This year, we are well on our way to beating that number, with more than 450 people who have found work with our help already.
