Fernando Camacho, 40, is rebuilding his life after a series of mishaps. He came to Goodwill’s Career Connection Center this spring, looking to start fresh. At the center, he got help developing a resume and received assistance with job applications and interviews. He quickly earned a high school equivalency diploma, then was soon hired as a maintenance worker at a local hotel, where he is valued for his hard work and positive attitude.
Fernando focuses on moving forward, toward his goals.
“It’s just taking steps – step after step,” he said of his recent efforts to rebuild his life. “It takes patience to do everything. That is a real gift. I’ve had to teach myself to be patient,” he said.
