Custodial Technician Skills Training Program
DEVELOPING CONFIDENCE & STRENGTHENING ABILITIES
The Custodial Technician Skills Training Program is a paid, six-week program that focuses on basic custodial skills, including how to clean above floor surfaces, hard floor and carpeted surfaces, restrooms and shower rooms.
Trainees gain an understanding of cleaning products, customer service best practices, and receive hands on training with cleaning equipment. This program follows the ISSA Cleaning Management Institute Basic Custodial Technician curriculum. Upon course completion, trainees can test to receive their industry recognized Certified Custodial Technician credential from the ISSA Cleaning Management Institute.

Qualifications to participate
- Individuals ages 18-65+
- Documented intellectual and physical disability and/or mental illness with an Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Desire to develop skills for competitive employment.
- Must reside within our 22 county service area and able to secure reliable transportation to our Johnston, Iowa Headquarters training location.
- Eligible for authorization by HCBS, private pay, or other funding source.
- Able to self-administer all medications.
- Independent in self-care needs.
- Not harmful to self or others.
