By donating items and shopping at Goodwill of Central Iowa, you’re helping to make purposeful employment possible for all central Iowans. You can help further our mission and support our employment training programs through monetary contributions, partnerships or volunteering. here.
Applications are typically reviewed within 3-5 business days. Once the application is processed and next steps are determined, you will receive an email, phone call, or text (if you opted in to receive text messages.) Be sure to check junk and spam email folders as it is Goodwill’s intention to respond to candidates regardless of whether they move forward in the interview process.
SHOPPING
As of June 2023, the dressing rooms in our stores are open.
Clothing and electronics that were purchased at Goodwill of Central Iowa retail store can be returned within 7 days of purchase with the original receipt and color tags still attached.
Items purchased at the Outlet cannot be returned.
Returns for items purchased on shopgoodwill.com can be initiated by opening a customer service ticket. Please use the ‘contact seller’ tab on your order to open a customer service ticket.
We are able to hold furniture for 24 hours after it is purchased. A receipt and furniture tag must be shown at pickup. After 24 hours the item will become eligible for purchase again.
Yes! Goodwill of Central Iowa GoodDealsClub is an email program that offers discounts and sale announcements, delivered to your inbox.
Discounts are also available for military and seniors (age 55+) on Tuesdays at Goodwill Retail Stores. Exceptions do apply.
DONATIONS
Goodwill of Central Iowa is happy to accept donations of gently used clothing, housewares, electronics, and more. Click here to view the list of items we are able to accept and those that we cannot.
We appreciate that you’ve thought of Goodwill of Central Iowa to donate your items. However, there are some items we cannot accept due to applicable laws, restrictions, or processing costs. Click here to view the list of items that we cannot accept.
Donations are accepted at any of the Goodwill of Central Iowa’s 13 store locations during store open hours. Please refrain from leaving donations unattended outside of store hours. Click here for a list of our stores and operating hours.
Donations are not accepted at the Outlet location.
Donation pick-ups are available from a third-party partner ReSupply, a Veteran run organization. Any and all items accepted! All eligible items are donated while remaining items are ethically disposed of. Pickup fee reflects the operating costs and is much smaller than a usual moving company or junk hauler fee. (Fee is not tax deductible)
