Time Is Valuable, Especially at Goodwill of Central Iowa
Through our volunteer program, we offer fun and hands-on opportunities that make a meaningful impact in Central Iowa. Whether you are an individual interested in getting more involved in the community or a group looking to make a difference, Goodwill of Central Iowa has an opportunity for you.
Volunteer opportunities are available at our retail stores for individuals and groups.
Our Volunteer Program
You’ll accept and sort donations, stock shelves, fill displays and clean in our stores. At this time, you may choose to volunteer at Urbandale, West Des Moines, Ames or our Marshalltown stores during a 4 hour shift that works best for you. You can volunteer on your own, with a friend or sign up in a group. See all volunteer opportunities and apply through our Careers page.
- Volunteers must be age 16 to volunteer on their own.
- If younger than 16, volunteers must be accompanied by a parent or part of a service group.
- Volunteers must sign up for shifts of 4 hour increments in groups of 5 or less
Donate Your Professional Expertise
Area professionals can help support our mission by providing opportunities for our program participants to learn about and practice aspects of work in a safe environment. Business tours to explore career opportunities or participating in mock interviews are just a few ways that you can get involved.
